A Little Something for Everyone...
Another busy week as December speeds along...Today marks day number 67 of the 2015/16 school year!

On Wednesday, our Zion Room hosted a special group of friends, among them was  Archimedes  the corn snake.  Thank you Team Miller for sharing your family pets with the children.

Not long after that, our After School STEM students got to work designing their own BrushBot - a battery powered creature.
Meanwhile, this week's Early Release day provided our staff with an intensive work day. The day's agenda was curricular planning with particular focus on writing and math. Our Staff was amazingly well fed by our wonderful Hospitality Committee. Sending a special shout-out to Molly Blaisdell for organizing that feast! And on Thursday morning, the staff took a few minutes before school began to shower Ms. Joelle with some goodies for her baby who is due to arrive in January.

And even in this busy month...there is always time for a song and a birthday walk!

Demystifying Technology...
To honor Computer Science Education Week (December 7-11), our Technology Teacher, Ms. Catie, focussed this week's lesson on activities related to the basics of writing computer code.
O ur Lower and Upper Elementary students joined millions of children in tens of thousands of classrooms across over 150 countries who engaged in an  hour-long introduction to computer programming designed to demystify coding and show students that everyone can learn the basics.

Ms.Catie is sure most of her students would  enjoy additional opportunities to continue their coding work at home! Please visit
www.code.org  to check it out and learn more!
From the Front Office
Holiday Break
Unlike the Manchester School District, we will have a full day of school on Wednesday, December 23rd. Break begins on Thursday, December 24th and we return to school on January 4th.

Winter Recess Attire
As long as the temperature outside has a real-feel of 20° or higher, we will hold outdoor recess. Students MUST wear a winter coat, hat, and gloves or mittens in order to go outside for recess when it is below freezing (32 degrees). Additionally, boots and snow pants will be required in order to play in the potentially snowy or muddy areas outside.

Lost & Found
Please encourage your child to check our Lost & Found in the front entry if they have misplaced any items they have brought to school.

Sharing is Caring...
Share the Warmth
Just one week left to donate your family's clean, gently used coats to our holiday coat drive which runs until December 23rd!

Please add donations to the large box in the front lobby marked 'Coat Drive'.  These coats will be donated to Families in Transition (FIT) of Manchester. Your generosity has already been wonderful - our box is getting quite full!

In School Donations
Here at school, we are also looking for extra boots, snow pants, and clothing to keep on hand at school for our Upper El kiddos - boys and girls, sizes 10 and up, please!
Thank you!!
