 Peace, Love & PJ's!

What a wonderful week we've had here at school, orchestrated by our dedicated staff and supported by so many parent volunteers. The children have explored the many festivals of light celebrated by cultures near and far during this time of year. Studies, followed by games and crafts, brought the holidays to life here at Mill Falls this December.

Our talented, committed and nurturing staff works hard every day to support and challenge our students and one another. It is a pleasure and an honor to lead this group of educators. This week our families have shared so much love with the team here in recognition of their hard work. For that, we share a simple, but deeply felt, thank you!

When we return from break, there will be a few staff re-assignments with the return of our Upper Elementary Lead Teacher, Ms. Lauren. Please join me in thanking the teachers who shared their time and wonderful energy with our students during Lauren's maternity leave. Ms. Tana took the Lead Teaching position in the Everglades room; Ms. Mindy was our Fall Reading Coach and Ms. Mel was our Fall English Language Learner Coordinator. Ms. Tana will return to her roles as Reading Coach and ELL Coordinator. Both Mindy and Mel will continue to work with our children - Mel will continue her role here as a paraprofessional and Mindy will be in the Yosemite Room part time and help out as a substitute as needed.

I would like to send a heartfelt thanks to the members of our two Boards that work quietly but diligently in support of our mission and goals. The MFCS School Board of Trustees lend their time, energy and expertise to the overall governance of Mill Falls. Their wisdom helps us be the best public Montessori school we can be! And our MFCS Foundation Board members help to channel important connections and resources to our school to help us meet and grow our Programming needs and dreams.

As we head into 2017, I can't help but take a moment to look back at the wonderful growth and achievements we've made since we opened our doors in 2012. Staff, Board members, students, parents, extended family and friends - we have met so many goals and plotted new roads. When we return we will begin the process for our first Charter Renewal with the NH Department of Education. We are proud to share our story, built by each one of us working together.

Wishing everyone in our Mill Falls Family a peaceful and wonderful holiday season.

  Peace Like a River...

So proud of our After School Choir which traveled to the state's capital to sing at the start of the Governor's and Executive Council Meeting earlier this week. The children got to meet (and pose with) Governor Hassan, and the Executive Council, and participate in the meeting's opening ceremony.
It was a packed house, as this was Governor Hassan's final meeting with the Council.  Led by their conductor, our own Ms. Allison,  the Upper and Lower Elementary Choirs performed
a number of pieces they have been working on this season. Special thanks to our terrific chaperones, Ms. Laura and Ms. Devon, and of course to Councilor Chris Pappas for arranging this opportunity.

Year End Notes...From the Foundation

As a reminder, many families and companies like to make donations to non profits at this time of year. We hope that some in our Parent Community are able to send in financial support.

If you would like to make a donation in support of our outdoor/recess project, or to our general fund, please make your check out to MFCS Foundation, 36 Salmon Street, Manchester, NH 03104. The Foundation is a 501c3 organization and your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
