I feel as if Mill Falls has helped create the person I am today.
I've made so many wonderful memories that will stay with me forever. I will always remember those moments where it felt like my face would fall off from laughing so hard, and the days where I went home missing school.
Most of my friends have been with me every step of the way
and it feels like I'm losing a part of me by leaving them.
~ Prashna, Graduating 6th Year Student
On Thursday evening, MFCS staff, students, families and friends gathered at the Lyceum Theater at T
he Derryfield School for our 3rd Annual Graduation in celebration of the sixteen 6th year students who have completed our program.
Our guest speakers this year were Niko and Eli Kacavas (Ms. Mindy's sons). They each shared their wisdom and thoughts about leaping forward into new
experiences. Niko will soon head off to West Point, while his twin brother, Eli, will be heading to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts to pursue acting.
Words were also shared by members of our graduating class (excerpts shared here above and below). And Ms. Shannon shared her fond memories of the students, many of whom enrolled at Mill Falls in our founding year.
The students arrived at Graduation Day only after hard work. They have also been supported by their wonderful families and our talented and nurturing staff.
We have all watched with pride and wonder as each of student made his/her way down the hall at school which grew longer - literally - as we expanded to make room for our Upper Elementary Program.
The Graduates encompass the mission we set out to accomplish with the founding of the school in 2012. And though we will miss them, we are so proud of them and know they are ready to launch!
Before I went to Mill
Falls, I felt lost. I couldn't find the point in living my life. I just didn't seem to have a purpose. I was expecting the worst from Mill Falls, but the school proved to me that I could be understood, that I belong somewhere. At Mill Falls, I finally came out of my shell, and realized who I was meant to be. To this day, I have friends that love me for who I am, and I can't bear to leave the place and people that made me this way. There are no words to describe how grateful I am other than: Thank You.
~ Teagan, Graduating 6th Year Student
Mill Falls has been like my 2nd home, except, you know - school. And it will always be my favorite. My friends have understood my immature sense of humor. My teachers and my peers have taught me more than just language and math. They have taught me grace, courtesy and respect. This school has definitely been more than just school. To be honest, I've looked forward to each day.
I will never forget this school. Ever.

There has been LOTS of other action here this week, much of it in celebration of the year's end. Our 6th Year Students and their intrepid lead teachers, traveled to the Browne Center and to Launch and stayed overnight as part of their year-end activities. HUGE shout out to the Upper Elementary Lead Teachers - Ms. Lauren, Ms. Laura & Ms. Colleen - and to Ms. Shannon for making that two day experience so very special for the students.
Today, our 3rd Year Students are at the Beach - an annual celebration of their completion of the Lower Elementary Program.
Our Kinders have had many activities this week as well, as they prepare for the event which marks their program completion - the
Annual Kinder Tea - on Tuesday morning. Each day this week was made special with activities like Change Your Name Day, Hat Day and PJ Day.
