Peace, Kindness & Race Day!
This week the world celebrated International Peace Day. Each year we mark this important day with an All-School Assembly and Peace Walk (photos below), following by other in-class activities. This allows us, as a community, to mark the day together and consider the meaning and importance of peace in our selves, our communities, and our world. This year we added something special - we joined hundreds of Montessori schools worldwide by registering to sing about peace. During the 24 hours of September 21, the song  Sing Peace Around the World was literally sung by Montessori  students and their teachers around the world . It was a lovely component to our own more local observance.

Speaking of community... We are looking forward to seeing you and your families and friends this Sunday at our  2nd Annual Road Race & Family Fun Run. Music, Jazzercize, Food, Face Painting, Free Food and a Race Day T-shirt all included. What better way to spend this beautiful Sunday, than together celebrating and supporting our school!
This morning we hosted our first of two September  Volunteer Trainings. If you've not been to a MFCS Volunteer Training yet, or just want a refresher, please plan to join us on September 28th ( click here for details). Kindly RSVP to [email protected].

Special thanks to Ms. Susanne and her team of MFCS Parent Volunteers - Angelica, Gina & Jen for making this  Picture Day  our smoothest run, to date. Despite the less-than-perfect weather, the day went off without a hitch! It will be several weeks before  the photographer  sends us the prints so stay tuned for more details about this shoot and the reshoot day from Susanne.

A reminder that our Friday Morning Read Ins will begin on October 6th.  You can view our Friday Morning Read In Schedule on our Google Calendar.

Looking forward to October, we will be hosting our Fall Bring Your Parents to School Night on October 12th which is scheduled the same week as our Fall Scholastic Book Fair

Enjoy this beautiful weekend weather...see you on Race Day!

See You at the Start Line THIS Sunday!

Just a reminder to please drive slowly and carefully during drop off and pick up. We have had a few parents and staff expressing concerns about folks not stopping at the stop sign, or waiting to exit the circle until the cars in front of them have safely dropped off or picked up their children.
