Spend too much time watching volunteers pack bags of food for the Good Samaritan Hunger Center's Kids Bag Program, and it can make you dizzy. The gymnasium at St. Sebastian Parish in Akron has tables set in a circle, each with different kinds of non-perishable foods. For over an hour on a Wednesday night twice a month, dozens of volunteers grab a black plastic bag, or two or three, and move clockwise in rapid fashion, grabbing bowls of cereal, cans of soup, bags of noodles and whatever else is on hand that day to feed upwards of 2,400 Akron children.
As the year draws to a close, there's still time to make a charitable gift to the Millennium Fund for Children and receive a tax deduction for 2021. Download Akron Community Foundation's Year-End Giving Guide to read about the gift options that may be most beneficial for you.

As always, you can make a gift via cash, check or credit card:
  • Give Online: Visit www.akroncf.org/give/Millennium to make your gift online before Dec. 31.
  • Mail Your Donation: Postmark your gift by Dec. 31 and mail to 345 W. Cedar St., Akron, OH 44307. Make your check payable to Millennium Fund for Children/ACF.

Gifts of any size make a real and lasting difference in the lives of local children!

Sometimes the small moments make the biggest memories, like opening a birthday present, making the cheerleading team or receiving your first A+ in school. It is these instances of joy that Caring for Kids’ Special Thanks, Accolades and Recognitions (STARS) program helps foster children celebrate. In 2008, one of the organization’s foster children made the cheerleading team, but her foster family could not afford to pay for her uniform and reached out to the agency for assistance. After helping the family, Caring for Kids staff created the STARS program to address similar situations in the future.
Thank you to the generous donors who contributed more than $50,000 to the Millennium Fund for Children during the 2020-2021 campaign year. Your gifts will help us impact the lives of local children for many years to come. For a complete list of donors, visit www.akroncf.org/MillenniumDonors.
From cash to mutual funds, and retirement assets to real estate, there are many ways to give to the Millennium Fund for Children.
