MILLENNIUM'S QUARTERLY NEWS
Thank You for a Successful 2021!
With increased fuel costs, manpower shortages, and other supply chain related issues, 2021 was a very difficult business year.

Despite these challenges, we are proud to be celebrating a successful year at Millennium. Last year, we were responsible for recycling over 50,000 Tons of material. That equates to about 25% of the MSW landfilled in the Sioux Falls Regional Landfill!

Without you, this success would not be possible. Thank you for your continued support of our education initiatives and helping us to monitor the quality of incoming material!
What to Expect in 2022
  • Gaylord Deposit and Return prices will be changing from $15 to $18 on February 1st. Small quantity sales will only be done if excess inventory is available and will be $25 each. As with every other commodity, the increase in freight and labor costs, along with shortages, have forced us to make this adjustment. We appreciate your understanding.
  • Markets looks to be starting off the year stagnant, but should remain stable into the first quarter.
  • We will also be keeping our eye on new state waste and recycling legislation being introduced across the country, from labeling standards, to extended producer responsibility (EPR), and recycled content mandates.
  • New technologies for process improvements are also emerging that we will be looking more into this year.
Recycling Education: We Want Your Input!
We're excited to focus on more public education strategies in 2022 as we continue to work with the Ecomaniacs, the City of Sioux Falls, and all of our community and hauler partners. We will also be continuing the bi-annual Hauler Check-In packages we rolled out last year.
