Excellence Always - We are here to make good things happen for other people.

This week we celebrated our new baseball and softball fields with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a special first pitch celebration! We were grateful to have members of the Hardwood Baseball Team, Mr. Jimmie Collins and Mr. Albert Davis, to throw the first pitches at the baseball and softball games!

Jared Lane, WFHS Freshman, participated in the 5th annual Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge. Wednesday, March 8th, was Community Pitch Night where Jared presented his new company, HealthyLife:Grab-and-Geaux Goodness. 

Congratulations goes to WFHS Junior, Lillie Lynch, for winning the DEMCO Essay Context! Lillie is one of six students selected by DEMCO to participate in the National Rural Electric Youth Tour in Washington, D.C.

A special thanks goes to Mr. Larry Peters and all of our School Resource Officers who lend a helping hand to our students every day. #gratefel

Bains Lower had a "Grand" time for Good Times with Grandparents!

The Bains Elementary "Picnics, Parents, and Pathways to Literacy" for 4th grade families was a huge success!

The West Feliciana Fire Department visited Ms. Corey Gilfoil's class today at Bains Elementary! Students received hats, explored the fire truck and sprayed water from the fire hose.

It was a magical night at the Bains "Fairytale Formal" for first grade families. Students enjoyed dressing up, taking pictures, sipping on Fairytale Fizz, playing with their balloon surprises and dancing with loved ones. This was an introduction to their fairytale unit in English Language Arts and helped bring the text to life.

Jennifer Macha-Hebert, lifestyle coach from Basic Living, speaks to WFHS female athletes about nutrition and fitness for athletic performance.

National Child Identification Program: Grades PreK-5th grade received an ID Kit this week. I encourage familes to complete the ID Kit and to store the completed kit safely. A special thanks goes to the office of the Louisiana Attorney General and Sheriff Brain Spillman for making the ID kits available to our students. Students in 6th-12th grade are eligible for the kit. Please contact me at 225-635-3891 to request a kit.
