Our 8th graders made a positive impact on our environment by planting trees at the Bonnet Carre Spillway today as part of an ongoing study about Louisiana’s coastal wetlands. They also had the opportunity to visit a state-of-the-art model of the lower Mississippi Delta at the LSU Center for River Studies. | |

A special thanks goes to Mr. John Cavell, Education Manager for the Louisiana Bureau of EMS, for visiting our Emergency Responder Class and our Career Technical Center at WFHS. Mr. Cavell leads the educational initiatives for EMS and is excited about what we are doing in this field and what we can accomplish in the future. | |
Congratulations go to Coach Ryan Ojeda as he was selected as the Louisiana Strength Coach of the Year! Coach Ojeda has played a vital role in the health, nutrition, training, strength and conditioning of our student athletes. He also serves as a role model and mentor as he is passionate, encouraging and enthusiastic. | Are you ready for some baseball? Our baseball and softball teams have started the year, and now they have fields to match the excellence they display on a daily basis. Please pardon our progress, but we are close to finishing with turf and light renovations on the quad. |

WFMS students in Club Read got the opportunity to attend the Louisiana Teen Library Association convention at Tall Timbers. They competed in contests, met other students who are in library clubs, participated in fun book discussions, heard a great author, and enjoyed outdoor games late into the night! West Fel students through participation with the West Fel 4H Archery Team competed in the East Baton Rouge District Shooting Sports Invitational and won! Camryn Pearson (WFMS) placed 3rd Jr Genesis, Andrew Klein (Bains) placed 1st Jr Genesis and 1st place Compound and Judah Lowery placed 4th Jr Genesis under the leadership of Coach David Gordon.
