Summer has taken the starch out of most Floridians, myself included! So my week in Acadia NP, Maine, was a balm for both my body and spirit. While we can't all fly to cooler climes, we can do a few things that I did in Maine that can help.

• Get up early and watch the sunrise.

• Watch a sunset.

• Listen to the birds with your eyes closed.

• Walk in nature.

• Before you go to bed, go outside and look up.

• Share a meal with friends.

• At the start or end of the day, write 5 things for which you're grateful.

• Doodle, make marks, color, paint, knit, sew, bake, garden. Just do something with your hands.

• Meditate or do a body scan. (Body Scan Meditation)

October slides into cooler and drier weather. You've made it! We invite you to join us at Friday Meditations. See details below.

Fridays, Take a Time Out Meditation with Maggie

These online meditations are offered by Maggie Stevens, Caloosahatchee Mindfulness Chair. Every Friday morning and evening at 10:00 am and 5:00 pm, meditation sessions include a 20-minute meditation with initial guidance and then silent sitting. After the meditation, there is a group discussion, 5 minute silent reflection, and then a thought for the week and check out. These meditations are offered at no cost, and no experience is necessary.
