Please read on to learn more about this very meaningful evening of celebration and remembrance. Speaking of celebrating, Tuesday, May 9th is Teacher Appreciation Day. Please join me in celebrating all of the teachers in our regions and across the country who advocate on our behalf to support the mental and emotional wellness of their students.

Pittsburgh. Mighty. Beautiful. (and MYM!)
To better serve schools and communities in western Pennsylvania, we have welcomed a Pittsburgh-based young adult speaker to Minding Your Mind. Carolyn shares her story via our Changing Minds: Stories Over Stigma program. ONe school said, "Carolyn did an AMAZING job presenting her story to our students. She was very well-spoken, took her time, and was able to make a difference. She was friendly and went out of her way to talk to a few students after class - which she didn't have to do. This was one of THE BEST presentations I have seen in a while, she is good at what she is doing!" New Program Available! "Our Turn to Talk" Movie & Discussion
We are thrilled to be partnering with the creators of the "Our Turn to Talk" movie to bring a new program for students, parents/caregivers, and community members. Individuals telling their own stories of lived experience has been the foundation of Minding Your Mind programs since 2007. The film employs this effective structure as high school senior Anastasia Vlasova pulls up to the mic to share her story and travels across the country to give other teens a chance to share theirs. Following a viewing of the movie, a Minding Your Mind clinical presenter will lead a Q&A to engage attendees in discussion on the film’s themes and answer questions brought to light by the film’s participants. In Case You Missed It...
"Ted Lasso" Embraces the Topic of Mental Health
The cast of the Apple+ TV show "Ted Lasso" visited the White House to talk about mental health. We saw a snippet of what the conversation was going to be, and now the White House has released a video that peeks into the longer conversation. Each actor has a message to share about mental health: it's a strength to talk to someone, watching someone else talk about mental health makes people feel seen, starting conversations early helps prevent a crisis - well, just watch and see for yourself!

Thank you to the cast, creators, and writers of "Ted Lasso" for using this worldwide platform to let people know that it's OK to not be OK and you are not alone. 💜
