Seasons of Change
Welcome everyone, we are so happy to be with you!

We're back to in-person school, in-person meetings, and social events. So much has happened since our last newsletter in May and our Summer Update in July. We’ve launched a new region, held two A Celebration of Life events, and added new speakers and clinical facilitators.

Much like the fall season, so much is changing here at Minding Your Mind, and much like the harvest that happens in the fall, we are grateful for what has come from it. MYM is growing, thriving, and reaching more young people than ever before. Enjoy reading, and thank you for your continued support.

Happy Fall!

End of Year Giving
Minding Your Mind has grown to become a trusted resource and leading provider of emotional wellness, mental health education, and suicide prevention programs to countless schools and youth-focused groups. Our unique ability to provide highly professional, age-appropriate programs for students K-college has elevated our reputation to a premier provider, trusted resource, and essential educational partner. Schools have come to rely on our programs for education, support, and guidance; Minding Your Mind programs receive an average 4.9 out of 5 on school feedback surveys. Last year we provided a remarkable 1,854 programs and reached over 200,000 individuals. We are well on our way to exceed that number for the coming school year and remain committed to providing impactful, life changing, often life-saving mental health and suicide prevention programs. Your year-end gift will help us continue this vital work to diminish suffering, eliminate crisis, and facilitate overall health and wellness. Thank you.

MLB Creates Podcast from Phillies & MYM Program
In February 2021, in conjunction with Minding Your Mind, the Philadelphia Phillies launched Strike Out the Stigma, a Community Outreach initiative focused important conversations to remove negative connotations surrounding mental health. The program proved so impactful that it caught the attention of the MLB. The League has created a podcast from the presentations and highlights it across MLB media. You can watch previous program here, or listen to the MLB podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or search "Strike Out the Stigma" wherever you get your podcasts.

In July, the long awaited national number for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline made its debut. A Celebration of Life: New Jersey Returns in Style
On Thursday, September 15, 2022, nearly 300 friends and supporters of Minding Your Mind reunited at the Spring Lake Bath & Tennis Club for the second A Celebration of Life: New Jersey. The first was held in 2019 with great success, but the pandemic delayed a follow-up, and it surely was worth the wait.

The highlight of the evening was a presentation by Minding Your Mind’s Guy Iacono and Planning Committee chairperson Kate Lancaster, discussing the growing need for mental health education with Minding Your Mind’s mission to honor every request, and the inspiring commitment of all in the room to further conversations about suicide prevention and mental health. Kate then presented the Champion of Hope Award to Joseph Camarota, founder of the North Brunswick Mental Health Awareness 5K. Joseph shared his personal mental health journey with a visibly moved crowd. Continue reading & see photos

New Office in California
In June, we were honored to receive a generous grant to establish our fifth dedicated regional office in San Diego. "This commitment of resources will allow us to go beyond our national outreach and virtual programs to have on-the-ground staff to connect with schools and communities in-person throughout the state of California," shares Trish Larsen, executive director. "We have known the need is there, is great, and growing by the day. We grateful that we can take our outreach and services to the next level." Connect with our California Office
