Author Talk: Jacqueline Raposo - The Me Without: A Year Exploring Habit, Healing, and Happiness
Thursday, January 31 @7pm
Wiltonian and journalist Jacqueline Raposo finds herself sick, single, broke, and wandering in a fog. Fighting chronic illness, debt and other low points in her life, she embarks on subtracting some of her most constant habits - social media, shopping, sugar, and negative thoughts - for periods of thirty to ninety days over the course of one year. She discusses this journey in her new book The Me Without: A Year Exploring Habit, Healing, and Happiness. In this curated search for self-improvement (a quest that readers can easily personalize for themselves), Raposo confesses to the sometimes violent and profound shifts in her social interactions, physical health, and sense of self-worth. Part memoir, part case study, this book offers an inspiring example of how to forge one's own journey, expose wounds, and help personal healing. A Q&A will follow the talk. The event is free. Books for sale and signing courtesy of Elm Street Books. More info & register
