Greetings Dear Friends, Our students are thrilled to be starting Fall classes in August. During this pandemic, here all schools of higher learning will hold online classes. In June and July we have been registering them for the Fall, and very importantly we are continuing to provide them emotional support.

The shutdown of many businesses means lost jobs for our students. To fill in the gap, Casa de Kids has been offering (when needed) essentials such as medical services, food, school supplies and rent. This photo is Drew Vogt with Mayra, a young student of ours who industriously works selling pastries in local streets. Dr. Jose Update

We are happy to report that our new Medical Doctor, Jose Alberto, has begun his hospital residency. We delivered him to his new position six hours northwest of Oaxaca, in a rural hospital of 180 beds. He's set up with a modest room and is already loving his work!

Why Oaxaca?  Oaxaca City is the capital of the state of Oaxaca (pronounced wah-ha-kah). While our state is famous for native and culinary arts, it ranks as the country's third poorest with one of the highest illiteracy rates. Its mountainous terrain makes commerce and education difficult, attracting many seeking a better life to Oaxaca City.
