Minimum Mobile Habitat
Design and Fabrication Workshop

This workshop, which meets Monday through Thursday 10 AM to 5 PM, explores the spatial interplay of mass and light to build modular, mobile architecture at human-scale through digital fabrication and full-scale prototyping.

Participants develop essential skills in digital design / making through a fabrication oriented investigation into ergonomics (mass) and atmosphere (light). This elemental relation informs essential questions of mobility as prototypes are deployed and tested in the streets of New York City in the final week of the session.

Additional information can be accessed through the program catalog available  here .
Summer Program in Progress

We are now one and a half weeks into this year's summer program and our students have been introduced to the study of architecture as an exploratory cultural practice through drawing, model making, lectures, site visits and participating in critiques. The beginning studio and workshop assignments prompt students to investigate and transform a common utilitarian object: an umbrella. Through this work students at both the high school and the college levels begin to shape the foundations of work for further study in architecture.
