This Ministerial Order suspends limitation periods in statutes administered by the Minister of Community and Social Services from March 17 - June 1, 2020. Please refer to the appendix attached to the Ministerial Order.

Since moving the Lawyer Referral Service in-house on March 30, the Law Society has fielded 1,319 requests, through our online form or over the phone. Most of these requests are in the areas of civil litigation, matrimonial & family, employment, criminal, and estate planning & administration.

The expanded operating support provided by our Customer Service team has resulted in more requests being processed for the public. The service has also experienced an uptake in lawyer applicants who want to be a part of the program.
