Our Ministry Vision
Rooted in Grace.
Growing in Faith.
Serving with Joy!

Pastor Kevin's Letter
One of the verses that has been on my mind a lot lately are these words of Paul from Philippians 1:
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
I've been drawn to these words as I know that I and we as God's people at Our Savior have so much to be thankful for.

I give thanks to God for:
  • A great first year at Our Savior.
  • A group of people that God has gathered at Our Savior that love God, desire to grow in Him, and love to share this place with other people.
  • The incredible leaders that have a passion for making sure the ministry of this place continues to move forward. I especially give thanks for Diane Schildbach and John Phillips who are coming off the Lay Governing Board after many years of faithful service. I'm also thankful for our incoming directors Mark Klins, Katrina Owens, and Chris Korsak for answering God's call to faithfully serve.
  • The godly men who are our elders who provide spiritual leadership for our congregation and meet monthly as a group and weekly with me to cover this place with prayer.
  • All of the many people that made VBS possible. What an incredible opportunity to shares the message of the Gospel with 170 kids.
  • Incredible Sunday School and Bible Study leaders for kids and adults, men and women. People who have a passion for making God's Word come alive and take root in the lives of others.
  • The many volunteers of this place. WOW! We couldn't do it without you. From music to sound, school to preschool, facilities to the office, so many people give tirelessly of themselves to make this place go.
  • An incredible staff that is a phenomenal team to work with. God has blessed Our Savior with so many talented people who have a heart for this place and are here because this is where they want to be and believe strongly in what we are trying to do.
This list is by no means complete, but is a snapshot of the many and various people that I pray and give thanks to God for on a continual basis.

As I reflect on our life together and these words of Paul, I am brought back to the importance of gratitude in our lives. It is so easy to get to the point that what we have is normal or ordinary, mundane even expected. And yet the reality that we get to see as Christians is that the people around us and the blessings around us are not there by accident. Each is the work of God. Each is the living embodiment of God's grace. And so my encouragement to myself and you this summer is to take a moment to stop and give thanks to God for the things that are obvious and not so obvious. I leave you with the great words of Paul from Colossians 2:6-7:
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
May our lives be lives that are abounding, overflowing with thankfulness.

Altar Guild
One function of Altar Guild is to prepare communion for worship.  This is a very special activity in the church, and it is vital that we have more help.
It is not a difficult job and you will be blessed by participating.
About once every 5 weeks (or longer with more helpers), you would  set up Communion on a Saturday and clean up on Sunday .  That's probably less than 1 hour each day.

To help with your decision,   I can show you  what the work entails .   Scheduling is based on dates you have available.   Prayerfully consider this opportunity and ca ll Susan Contreras with questions. 925-462-3753

Box Tops Goes Digital

Box Tops for Education (BTFE) is going digital!

Unexpired traditional clipped Box Tops are fine until they are no longer on packaging.  Then, no more cutting out anything or carrying the tops around until remembering to turn them in.

To go digital, get a (BTFE) app in June that will allow the scanning to begin.  Getting the 10 cents per purchase will continue to add up and be money in the bank!

To earn credit for PTO, you will now scan your grocery receipts whenever you purchase a participating BTFE product and the cash will instantly be added to our account.  So easy!  Receipts can be from any store, but they must be scanned within 14 days of the purchase in order for the purchase to be eligible.

Again, please keep bringing in unexpired pink Box Tops whenever you have them and we'll get them submitted.  Thank you to everyone for your continued support of this easy fundraiser!
