I have a simple thought for you today.
"Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
This past Sunday on our first Sunday of the New Season was the first time that every chair in the church was taken out of storage. There was not one chair stacked in the whole church. I think this is the only time that has ever happened.
It is funny. Lots of people made jokes on Sunday about how much larger the room looked. Some said they even needed to operate glasses to watch communion. I think a big part of that is the chairs. So many more empty chairs. The transition time has brought with it two unique blessings. It has allowed us to see a completely different way of worshiping. It's drawn us close around the altar. It's drawn us close to one another. And now a new season begins.
It is easy to feel alone in a sea of empty chairs, but don't.
Because while we may be a little bit more spread out every chair represents an opportunity. Every chair represents a lonely and hungry soul longing for God. Every chair represents a friend you haven't met yet. Every chair represents your family in Christ that has yet to arrive at the feast. So go out! Let the world know of what we have. By that I don't mean a building I mean Jesus Christ himself. I mean a community founded on the love of God his mercy and his inspiration. Invite all to come. Because there's empty chairs to fill and God's new day to meet with Joy.

Annual Soup Drive-Every Can Makes a Difference!
It's time for the annual summer soup drive to support MESA Outreach. The generous members of Saint Aidan's have been a consistent blessing to those in need through your support of MESA Outreach. Once the school year is ended, there is an increased demand for easy to fix meals for the children during the summer. Last year alone, MESA provided over 3,000 families with nonperishable food assistance twice each month The collection of hearty soup this summer is paramount to supporting these families.
This will be our fourth year to hold a summer soup drive and we are asking for your continued support. Our goal is to collect 4,000 cans of soup to be sure children do not go hungry. The familiar soup collection can will be in the narthex along with collection bags and an updated status of where we stand in meeting our goal. Heartfelt thanks and Blessing to our St. Aidan's Family
