March 19, 2020
Friends,

We acknowledge the tremendous amount of change that COVID-19 has brought to our country, communities, and personal lives these last few weeks. Many people have told me that we’ve never experienced anything like this before in their lives. We recognize spring break, normally a time to catch our breath, has created a lot of uncertainty with NDSU going online with classes until April 6th. You can check out our livestream address below.
Response from the Diocese
Yesterday, we received word that all Masses with the Diocese of Fargo have been canceled by Bishop Folda until further notice. See Bishop's announcement below; all regional dioceses have taken similar measures.
Our Next Steps
Unfortunately this means our upcoming Koinonia retreat is canceled.

Our Mission is to serve the students of North Dakota State University and we will continue to give you all our best efforts given the current prudential limitations of COVID-19 social policy.

In response we are re-formulating our campus ministry platform to go digital. We will still be having bible studies, Mass (live streamed) on our YouTube channel, campus events (e.g. bC Nights), and one on one discipleship and spiritual direction. We are in the process of providing online resources you can access on our website which can be found here:
Stay Connected
Our expanded digital campus ministry platform will include the major social media channels listed below. To stay up to date, please follow us or subscribe and feel free to download our app: bison Catholic.
The Newman Center will remain open during regular business hours, so feel free to stop in and visit or do a holy hour as long as we comply with the CDC’s recommendations of 10 or less people and social distancing of at least 6ft. Also please apply hand sanitizer, which is available, or wash your hands upon entering or leaving the building.  We ask you to not enter the building if you feel sick.

Please do not hesitate to call, email or text us if you have any concerns or if we can be of assistance to you in any way during this difficult time.

We remain committed to praying for you and yours during this time of uncertainty and hopefully together we can develop deeper bonds of charity and solidarity for the sacraments, our Church, one another, and the God we serve.

Offering a word of hope, please check out this video from the Sisters of Life. One of our alumni, Sr. Mary Pieta, is singing in the video.
Respectfully,
Rev. James Cheney.
