NEAR needs your help to provide food support to our community.
March is the time of the year when Minnesotans come together to raise funds and collect food for food shelves in their communities. Minnesota's charitable food system (food shelves and food banks, meal programs, etc.) continues to run at capacity.
Despite these challenges in 2022,
NEAR was able to serve the local community by accomplishing the following:
Household visits: 5,042, an increase of 51% compared to 2021.
NEAR distributed 638,663 pounds of food to households.
377 children received backpacks with age-specific school supplies.
518 children received hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and gifts at the toy distribution event.
Your monetary or food contributions made during this campaign period allows NEAR to bolster our budget by qualifying for additional funds made available through the campaign agency (GMCC)* and their sponsors. NEAR would greatly appreciate your support through food or monetary donations.
Both cash and food donations would be greatly appreciated. Please make checks payable Church of the Epiphany, with NEAR in the memo line.
Food donations can be left in the Fireside Room off the Narthex at the Church or in the Church Office | February 27, 2023 - March 9, 2023.
