The Mira Costa West Field is finished!
The MC West Field is finished and being used on a daily basis for sports! It is a tremendous enhancement to the school and will be used for years to come! Many thanks to MBX and MBUSD for making this happen.
Boys Beach Volleyball Wins Second Straight IBVL Championship!

Mira Costa Boys Beach Volleyball played their last regular season matches on September 30, with all three squads defeating both of their opponents. Varsity and JV played Redondo Union High School and Palos Verdes High School, and Frosh-Soph played Loyola JV and Notre Dame JV.

With these wins, all three squads won their league title outright. Varsity won the Bay League, while JV won the JV Bay League and Frosh-Soph won the JV Mission League.

Costa Football starts off
Bay League play with win over Peninsula!
The Mira Costa Mustang football team took to the field Friday to open up Bay League play vs. Peninsula High School. The Panthers jumped out to an early lead on an interception returned for a touchdown and that was followed up by a 3- yard touchdown, following a Mustang fumble inside their own 5 yard line. Costa Boys Water Polo takes 2nd place in South Bay Tournament!
The Mustangs went 4-1 and finished in second place. in the South Bay Tournament. Mira Costa lost to Palos Verdes 5-9 in the Finals. Costa moves to 12-5 overall and 5-0 in Bay League play. Read more.

opens Thursday, Oct. 12th!
Don’t miss Mira Costa Drama/Tech’s production of Reginald Rose’s gripping courtroom drama,  12 Angry Jurors , playing Oct. 12-14 in the MCHS Small theatre.

Mira Costa’s ComedySportz team had its first match of the year Friday night, Oct. 6th.

Costa Cross Country shines at the Arizona Desert Twilight Sweepstakes!
On September 30th, the Costa Cross Country team traveled to Arizona for the Desert Twilight Sweepstakes. They competed in the following six races: Boys and Girls Sweepstakes race (the premier race of the evening), Boys and Girls Large School Varsity and Boys and Girls Large School Open .
Costa Bands perform at football game and Hometown Fair!

The MCHS Marching Band and Colorguard helped get MBMS students into the Mira Costa Spirit at a Pep Rally on Oct. 4th at MBMS. Together with members of the Cheer and Football teams, they passed on the love of Green & Gold.
Costa Cheer!
It was a busy weekend for the Costa cheerleaders as they cheered at the football game against Peninsula on Friday night at home. On Saturday, after cheering on runners heading up the Rosecrans hill for the 10K, the Costa Cheer team headed over to the Hometown fair to make Boba Drinks, Go Costa!
Girls Tennis dominates in 14-4 victory over rival Redondo.
On Thursday, October 5th, the Mustangs were dominant in a rivalry match with Redondo, winning seven singles sets and seven doubles sets.  Read more.
Choir performs National Anthem to start off Hometown Fair 10K!
Thank you to all the choir students and parent volunteers for helping the Choir Department with our annual staffing of the MB 10K Race on Saturday, Oct. 9th. Every year the Choir Dept. provides more than 200 volunteers (students and parents) to help run the water stations, provide traffic control, and hand out t-shirts to race finishers.  Read more.
The Mira Costa Choir Department is announcing an amazing opportunity for Costa students, families, and friends to tour with the Mira Costa Festival Choir on the Danube River!  The tour is scheduled for spring 2019 (not this spring!) and is on one of Amawaterways’ newest ships, the Amalea. Girls Soccer Team kicks off
at the beach!
What a fabulous afternoon the girls spent getting to know each other away from the soccer field and on the beach. Players participated in unique team games and activities to promote unity among the girls. The team mixer finished up with a taco truck sponsored by the Girls Soccer Booster Board!
Costa Cyber Security Club is gearing up for the 2017 competition season
The Costa Cyber Security Club recently convened for a mock competition that rounded out recent student and mentor-led training sessions, and helped them in preparation for the upcoming competitive season.

During the first weekend of October, students will be competing as teams in a practice round that is more reflective of the competitive protocol in terms of duration and complexity. Throughout October they will continue training and refining the skills of their competitive teams, comprised of 5 students each. Girls Basketball Team
prepares for season!
The girls basketball team is in full swing with conditioning, practices and fall league games! The JV and Varsity team have been playing in the some fall league games. The have had some wins and losses but overall they have been having fun getting to know each other. There are a few fundraisers so pass the word! (see fundraisers below)
