Another word
Once again, Serra students and teachers continue to perform in this difficult situation. The online school day begins with the bell ringing, online video prayer, the pledge and announcements. The bell rings again and class begins.

A note from Lauryn Carter '20

"I'm blessed with the opportunity to attend Serra during this unfortunate time. Because of how the Archdiocese and Serra are handling the situation, I feel that they took into consideration how the students, specifically the seniors, are impacted. They didn't immediately cancel everything as many public schools did. There is hope and the possibility of at least experiencing some of what is left of our high school careers"
The ALL HAIL! Campaign
In a perfect world, we would not have to make this ask. The world is not perfect, so we do.

In the last 2 newsletters we discussed the need (requirement) for the Serra Alumni to raise '67k for the remainder of the fiscal year to reach the Alumni revenue goal of $251,000 for tuition assistance for 2019-20. In brief, due to financial reverses for some major donors and the postponement of the Cavalier Classic Golf Tournament, it became clear we would not make the revenue goal.

The situation. Most families are keeping up with tuition.  Then there are those who applied for and qualified for tuition assistance/Alumni Scholarships. This is where we will fall short without you.  Then comes surprize, surprize.   There are those who have been furloughed or laid off.  This was not in the plan. In addition,  we have families who are small business owners who have had to close.   One donated a percentage of revenues.

To solve these issues we initiated the "ALL HAIL! campaign to reach the goal. To date we have raised $14,267 with Donations, ALL HAIL! Cards and Alumni Legacy Tiles.

Look what happened!

Help Make the Miracle on Van Ness Happen!
An older Alumnus has made quite a commitment to the ALL HAIL! campaign.
This Alumnus will match a dollar for every two dollars we receive from Alumni for The ALL HAIL! campaign.
That is, if we raise our $67,000 from Alumni with this effort, Serra will receive his check for an additional $33,500. This Alumnus will donate up to a maximum of $40,000....we are at $13, 267 today.

The old Alumnus specifies that his donation go specifically to Tuition Assistance/Alumni Scholarships.

If you have never donated to Serra or haven't in a while, now is the time to do so.
