It’s winter. It’s raining. It’s the perfect time to curl up with a good book. And to make an end-of-the-year gift to the Berkeley Public Library Foundation, whose donors funded the perfect place to find and enjoy that book: the new Mystery Room at Berkeley Central. There you can settle into a comfy wing-back chair and immerse yourself in one of the thousands of volumes lining the walls of this comfortable new space.

Or, from the comfort of your home, watch this dramatic snippet of Agatha Christie's story The Body in the Library, performed by Berkeley’s Shotgun Players with the quintessential Miss Marple Joy Carlin. Filmed for last year’s Libraries are Central event, the 5-minute mini-drama will delight you . . . and remind you of the treasures to be savored in the new Mystery Room.
