Notable events for this week include:
The San Jose Earthquakes are providing free tickets to their match exclusively to Mission College students and employees on Saturday, September 16, at 7:30 p.m. against Real Salt Lake.
Limited supplies of scantrons, blue books, and index cards will be made available for students at the Welcome Center in the Student Engagement Center (SEC) and the Info Desk in the Campus Center.
The 41st Annual Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday and Mission will have an information table. Volunteers are needed to staff it.

Mission's Office of Administrative Services and the District’s Department of Public Health & Safety have teamed up to reactivate our emergency planning and training. Before they can begin, they are recruiting volunteers to join the Campus Emergency Response Team.
Positions they are looking for volunteers to fill are:
- Building Sweepers: Assigned to clear a building during an evacuation.
- Assembly Area Supervisors: Assigned to oversee a designated assembly area and report on conditions to the Incident Command.
Training and equipment for these positions will be provided.
If you are interested, complete the sign-up form by September 20.

Orientation to Transfer: Essential Information
New Mission College students aiming to transfer to a four-year university are invited to join an Orientation to Transfer session on Monday, September 11, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. This informative session will cover various topics, including university systems, admissions requirements, transfer timelines, the application process, and special transfer programs such as UC Dual Admissions, CSU Transfer Success Pathway, and Transfer Admission Guarantees. UC TAG Workshop Helps Secure Admission
Students are invited to the UC Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) Workshop on Tuesday, September 12, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Zoom. They will discover the TAG requirements for guaranteed admission to a UC campus for Fall 2024, with the first 30 minutes dedicated to an informative presentation. Following that, counselors will offer personalized assistance to help students complete the UC TAG application. Read more.

2nd Harvest Food Bank Distribution: Open to All
The 2nd Harvest Food Bank Distribution is every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Parking Lot A. The distribution is open to all Mission students and community members living in the Santa Clara Valley on a first-come, first-served basis, with both drive-thru and walk-up stations available.

Mission To Be At 41st Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival
The 41st Annual Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival will be Saturday and Sunday, September 16-17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., respectively, at Central Park, 909 Kiely Blvd. The weekend event will include 160 arts and craft vendors, selections of fine wine, craft beer, and international cuisine, along with live entertainment. Essential Student Supplies Available On-Campus
The Duplicating Center in Gillmor Center (GC) will provide ongoing on-campus support for student book order pick-ups, returns, and select class supplies. Limited supplies of scantrons, blue books, and index cards will be made available for students at the Welcome Center in the Student Engagement Center (SEC) and the Info Desk in the Campus Center. Students may find other select supplies at the Duplicating Center.

Fast, Free Rides Between Campuses Daily
West Valley and Mission College students, faculty, and staff can now ride a free shuttle between campuses every two hours, Monday to Friday. The ADA accessible shuttle runs from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with stops at each college's student services center, allowing easy transit to classes and events. By presenting a valid college ID, riders can avoid parking hassles and relax on the shuttle. Read more.

La Misión Colectiva To Kick Off Fall With Cultural Events
La Misión Colectiva, consisting of Chicana/o/Latina/o faculty, staff, and administrators, collaborates at a grassroots level to organize cultural events on campus. They invite the campus to two upcoming events: 'Learn Curanderismo: Latinx & Chicanx Spiritual Expressions & Healing Practices' on September 18 and La Misión Colectiva Celebration of South Bay Lowrider Culture on September 25. On-Site RN & Mental
Health Support
A Registered Nurse and Mental Health Supervisor will be on-site Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Health Center to provide immediate assistance for the physical and mental health needs of our students, faculty, and staff.
The center offers a wide range of health services, some at no cost, and others at a nominal fee, with the aim of ensuring quality healthcare and counseling accessibility to all members of the Mission community.

Departments Provide Streamlined Work Orders
Facilities Development & Operations has introduced a new work order system. The collaboration between Facilities, Police Services and Information Technology has resulted in the integration of the departments into a unified work order system and platform. This endeavor aims to facilitate the sharing of ticket information, modernize work order procedures, and enhance the overall user experience related to handling tickets.
