UMCOR SUNDAY

UMCOR Sunday is on March 22 and your gifts given will help support the day to day expenses of UMCOR. By giving on this Sunday (formerly One Great Hour of Sharing), this allows gifts given the remainder of the year to go 100%  to help with disaster relief.

While we are not meeting in person, you can mail a check marked UMCOR Sunday to Concord UMC, 11020 Roane Dr 37934
or give online on the church website at concordumc.com/giving
A TIME TO LEND A
HELPING HAND

The impact of the coronavirus has left many of us feeling uncertain about the future, confused, and wondering what's going to happen next.  Some of us have been impacted financially as employers have sent employees home for now.  With that loss of income, many are going to have a very hard time.

Our church wants to help and realizes many of you do too.  Below are several ways you can help or be helped.  If you have questions, want to request aid or want to help, please email   missions@concordumc.com

And if you want to help financially, we have several options from the general missions fund to the food pantry fund and our good samaritan fund.  You can give to any of these at  concordumc.com/giving

And yes...CONCORD CARES!!
SHEPHERD OF HOPE
FOOD PANTRY

109 guests were served yesterday at the food pantry!!  There really is a need during these uncertain times!  So many people impacted by the coronavirus who have temporarily lost their jobs are turning to the pantry for help.  To that end, we really need to pitch in and help stock the pantry shelves.

We will have the silver racks outside the Worship Center under the porte cochere (covered drive) so you can leave food donations at your convenience. Thanks for helping us help those in need!

Here's the list of items and sizes the pantry requests:
Rice (16oz)
Pasta (16oz)
Oatmeal (40 oz)
Complete Pancake Mix
Non-sugar coated cereal (15-20 oz)
Spaghetti Sauce (18 oz)
Canned Vegetables (16 oz)
Instant Potatoes (15 oz)
Canned or dried fruits (15 oz)
Fruit Juice (64 oz)
Dry Milk (25 oz)
Peanut Butter (18 oz)
Dry beans (16 oz)
Canned tuna, salmon or chicken (6 oz)
Soup (10 or 18 oz)
Mac and Cheese
Boxed Meals Like Hamburger Helper)
Vegetable Oil (12 oz)
Jelly (18 oz)

Please donate any of the items you are able and willing to give.

We can also use many more volunteers.  Email missions@concordumc.com if you can help.

MEALS ON
CONCORD UNITED WHEELS

Would you or someone you know like to have a cooked meal delivered to your home?  Becky Bishop, our church hostess, usually sends meals each Thursday to our shut in members.  However, she would like to expand that during this time of the coronavirus to those who can't get out or are experiencing financial difficulties brought on from their workplaces closing and causing them loss of income.

Also, Becky will need lots of help with this big undertaking.  We would love to have your help.

Please let us know if you would like a meal or like to help prepare the meals by emailing:
WANT TO BE
A PERSONAL SHOPPER?

Since many people can't get out for one reason or another, we would like to offer them a way to get food and medicine.  Would you like to be a personal shopper and help someone out?  If you are interested, please email us at    missions@concordumc.com
BUSY WORKERS!

Work is going full steam ahead at the Wright's home where this group is installing new flooring this week.  The carpet downstairs was ruined after the last flooding.  Thankfully, the rest of the area was okay.

The family is so appreciative and loves the new look!
FLOODED FAMILY NEEDS USED ITEMS

The Newsoms were so appreciative of the furniture we delivered to them on Saturday.  They lost most of their possession to mold caused by flooding.  Their youngest child is on a ventilator and has to be very careful about these types of issues. While we delivered quite a bit, they still need a queen size box springs, kitchen table and 4 chairs, coffee table, end tables, lamps and  washer & dryer

If you would like to donate items or help haul them, please email:
