Would you like to learn how to lead Morning Prayer?
Diocesan Training to License Lay Worship Leaders
September 3 @ 7pm

On Thursday, September 3, the Rev. Meredyth Ward, our Urban Missioner in Worcester, and the Rev. Jane Griesbach, deacon at St. Francis Holden, will offer a Zoom training to interested laypersons who want to learn how to lead the Daily Offices, in particular Morning Prayer. This is for both brand new persons and a refresher for folks who are being called on more often during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This training is limited to 20 people. Register using the button below. Please note that the confirmation email will contain the Zoom meeting access information.
Stewardship Resources & Webinar
August 18 @ 7pm
In the Rev. Pam Mott's recent newsletter, she offers stewardship resources, a webinar, and reflections on stewardship from the Rev. Bernie Poppe, the Very Rev. Tom Callard, and Canon Steve Abdow.
Tech Time
Wednesdays @ 7pm
"COVID has unleashed a wild amount of creativity, and a wild amount of people reinventing the wheel."
-Ellen Lincourt

Ellen's new goal is documentation. Whatever it is we are doing must be documented so that if our digital minister is not available, the ministry can continue. That means more than platform passwords. It means a step-by-step procedure for new digital ministers to follow.

She is interested in cultivating a community of digital ministers, and hopes that Tech Time becomes more than a place for Q & A. It can be a place where digital minister connect, share best practices and lessons learned, laugh about Sunday bloopers, and reflect on this technical ministry as evangelism.

Every Wednesday 7:00 - 8:30 PM

Call For Submissions for the Summer/Fall Issue of ABUNDANT Times
Deadline: September 7, 2020

We're gearing up for the next issue of the magazine and looking for some specific content:

  • Photos of Sunday worship adapted for the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Text and images for ministries that have surfaced during the pandemic. Are you making masks? Addressing food insecurity? Adapting existing ministry to continue despite the pandemic?

  • In the wake of George Floyd's murder and Black Lives Matter protests, has your congregation engaged any resources from Becoming Beloved Community? Have you been reading together? Structured conversation? Organized presence at local actions?

We are especially interested in hearing from lay leadership and ministry leaders. Be in touch with us if you have an idea that needs tweaking or if you just want some support in the writing process. If you'd like to write a piece or submit photos, click the button below to upload by September 7.

Don't forget to include your name and parish/town so we can credit you appropriately.

From The Episcopal Church
Third season of The Way of Love with Bishop Michael Curry podcast continues with guest Ruby Sales
In this episode, Bishop Curry talks with legendary leader Ruby Sales about her long and enduring work for civil rights and freedom in the United States. The two discuss how she was introduced to these movements, her search for a calling, and the potential of The Episcopal Church to lead in honest racial justice and reconciliation.

To Go on the Way of Love is to cross boundaries, listen deeply, and live like Jesus. To do any of these things, and to have any hope of healing, we need to be able to tell each other the truth and go, as Ruby Sales says, “where it hurts.”
