Episcopal Relief & Development Provides Resources for Congregations to Host an Episcopal Relief & Development Sunday

"Episcopal congregations are invited to observe Episcopal Relief & Development Sunday on March 9, 2025.

During the first Sunday in Lent, a day designated by The Episcopal Church as Episcopal Relief & Development Sunday, congregations have an opportunity to learn more about and celebrate the impact of Episcopal Relief & Development’s work.

Participating congregations can observe the day on the first Sunday in Lent or another convenient Sunday during the year, by collecting an offering for Episcopal Relief & Development, holding a special prayer service or sharing about the organization’s work in other creative ways. "

The Feast of the Mystery of Creation

Feb 20, 7:30pm ET

Online

"Since the 5th century, the Eastern Church has celebrated September 1 as the beginning of the year, marking “the day of Creation”, when God began to create the universe. But in Western churches, the Christian year begins with Advent and the story of the Incarnation. Now there is an ecumenical movement in the western churches to establish a “Feast Day of the Mystery of Creation” on September 1st. Learn about the history of this effort and its implications for preaching and worship. We will consider how a deeper celebration of God the Creator can deepen our understanding of God’s salvation."

Women and Religious Leadership Symposium

Mar 6-8

Northampton, MA

"Fifty years ago, virtually no women served as the primary religious leaders in congregations, synagogues, mosques, or temples in the US. Today, a handful of denominations have gender parity, and even those who still exclude women leaders have grassroots advocacy groups agitating for change. This symposium gathers fourteen scholars from across the country and reflects on these changes within contemporary Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim communities.

Our symposium (March 6-8, 2025) asks the following guiding questions. How do we, as scholars of religion, leaders of religious communities, and participants within religious communities, understand the changes we have observed in the last fifty years? How have women as religious leaders redefined religious leadership?"

Festival of Homiletics

"This Year’s Theme:

Preaching to Heal the Divide

Preachers today carry the weight of proclaiming the Gospel and helping their communities navigate through deeply divisive times. They need resources, wisdom, and support to serve as agents of healing and reconciliation. The 2025 Festival of Homiletics aims to provide exactly that—practical tools, theological frameworks, and spiritual nourishment for the vital work of bridge-building through preaching."
