September 2022
Last week, our Foundation team, Board of Trustees Chair, Liz Healy, and St. Tammany Health System leadership had the honor and privilege of dedicating the exam room of our inpatient Pediatrics Unit to the children and families on the Northshore by Metairie Bank Northshore.

Over the last five years, our Foundation and the STHS Parenting Center have been truly honored to partner with Metairie Bank as the title sponsor of our annual Monster Mash fundraiser. We could not ask for better partners, and we humbly thank Paul Myers and the entire Metairie Bank team for their utmost commitment to supporting our organization and, in turn, families in our community through the Parenting Center.

We were also honored to have the opportunity to honor past President and CEO, the late Mr. Ron Samford, with a special plaque to hang inside the exam room in recognition of his leadership and the Metairie Bank team's unwavering commitment to our Northshore community.

UNITED IN PINK - Join the Fight!
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

St. Tammany Hospital Foundation invites you to join the fight against cancer by participating in our annual breast cancer awareness campaign - UNITED in Pink. Proceeds from this campaign benefit St. Tammany Health System's education, screening, and early detection initiatives, as well as patient care at St. Tammany Cancer Center - A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center.

Businesses can show their support by registering as a Pink Partner and hosting a giveback or screening event in the month of October. Individuals can demonstrate their support by attending a Pink Partner event in the community or by purchasing a 2022 United in Pink shirt! Women of age can join the fight by scheduling their annual mammogram at the STHS Women's Pavilion or checking out the Be Well Bus's October schedule for a screening event near them.

Under the Sea at St. Tammany
Have you seen them? A school of whimsical and colorful fish have recently swum over for a visit to St. Tammany Health System's main campus. In 2020, St. Tammany Hospital Foundation's Healing Arts Initiative commissioned local artist Robert Post to create nine custom large-scale fish to hang from the ceiling in the lobby of STHS's Pediatric Clinic.

Sadly, their intended home was damaged during Hurricane Ida leaving these spectacular sea creatures without a home once they were completed. Fortunately, a temporary location was found for them in a hall along Tyler Street off the first-floor main lobby, where this beautiful installation will remain until the new Pediatric Clinic is built. Everyone is invited to walk the hall and visit these fish, or "Reefies" as the artist calls them.
Thank you to the generous donors who made this fishy dream a Reefie reality!
