Every week on numerous days food is brought to the PCC from nearby grocery stores and from organizations that glean food from nearby grocery stores and share it with us. That food makes its way to us in the cars of our church members. Once it arrives, it is sorted and placed in refrigerators and freezers as needed or stored on various racks and shelves if shelf stable. The food is then placed on tables Saturday and Sunday for distribution when the Food Pantry opens Sunday afternoon. There is currently a weekly need for the three times listed above.

Helping on one of these days could be a perfect New Year’s resolution!!

It’s not too late!

If available to help, please contact D’Maris Dempsey at: joedm88msn.com

or 908-334-1439.

This team, led by a member of the Board of Deacons, fields requests from our church members and neighbors for short-term, emergency financial help. This is the team that makes sure your generous donations to the Deacons’ Fund provide a real and positive impact in our community.

The Team is looking for ordained members of the church who would be willing to “vet” the incoming requests and make a recommendation on if/how we might help. The job requires being comfortable talking with folks in need and with leaders of other charitable organizations with whom we partner at times. It can also involve speaking with community service organizations and creditors to get a full picture of the person’s situation. It also requires maintaining confidentiality for the person requesting help.

Training on the process we use for vetting will be provided. When a request for help comes in, an available BG Team member will be asked to shepherd the request – doing the vetting and writing up a recommendation. The number of requests coming to the Deacons fluctuates, but any team member might handle one or two requests each month. However, the more people we have on the team, the less often each member will be asked to take a case!

Please prayerfully consider serving in this capacity.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO BRING

YOUR PLASTIC TO CHURCH

WE ARE SAVING FOR A BENCH FOR SANCTUARY+SEED

All paper labels must be cut off Amazon bags

It must be soft, stretchable plastic.

If it crinkles, it can't be recycled.

No cat or dog food bags please

Earth Stewardship is our responsibility as we collectively care for creation. We recognize the enormous and potentially devastating impact plastics have on our environment. One small way we can make a difference is the NexTrex Plastic Film Recycling Program.

BBPC will be collecting single-use plastics for recycling. We will partner with NexTrex to earn a park bench with our recycled plastic. To earn the bench for S+S we need to collect 1000 pounds of plastic by December, 2026.

We encourage you to bring your plastics to BBPC, and drop them in the marked box. Plastic MUST be “clean”, dry, and free of food/waste residue. We cannot accept plastic that is filled with trash, waste, or is dirty.

If you have questions regarding what can and cannot be recycled, please see below or click the link below to go to the NexTrex website:
