January 12, 2026

If you would like to RSVP via the church, just contact the church office: office@bbpc.org, and let us know.

If you have a change of plans and can now join us on Sunday, but didn't RSVP, don't worry, just come!

“Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?

I have heard you calling in the night.

I will go Lord, if you lead me.

I will hold your people in my heart.”

These are the words of the hymn we sang together Sunday during our church service. It was a fitting hymn in the context of Keith’s sermon in which he urged us to do as he has done time and time again – hear God’s call and respond. Sometimes the call is a whisper – a thin moment. Sometimes the ask is scary, inconvenient, hard. But it is doable! Our loving God makes all things possible when His people are being held in our hearts.

We have the opportunity to answer the call of our God in just a couple of weeks when families through HOME of Somerset County, Inc. will live in our Cave and be welcomed, served, and cared for by our members the week of February 8-15.

Will you “go Lord?”

Will you “hold His people in your heart?”

If so, sign up here on Sign up Genius, or reach out to Sharon Dougherty at sbdoc2012@gmail.com.

Me? Really? Yes, you!

Every week on numerous days food is brought to the PCC from nearby grocery stores and from organizations that glean food from nearby grocery stores and share it with us. That food makes its way to us in the cars of our church members. Once it arrives, it is sorted and placed in refrigerators and freezers as needed or stored on various racks and shelves if shelf stable. The food is then placed on tables Saturday and Sunday for distribution when the Food Pantry opens Sunday afternoon. There is currently a weekly need for the two times listed above.

Helping on one of these days could be a perfect New Year’s resolution!!

It’s not too late!

Dishes

On January 25th Church Dishes will be available until noon in the preschool room to anyone who would like some. The dishes have not been used in at least 5 years. They have been taken out annually and washed by hand and plastic-wrapped prior to our annual kitchen inspection by county officials. They are taking up all available kitchen cabinet space which is much needed. Everyone hosting events recently has chosen to use disposables as washing the dishes by hand before and after use by health guidelines is quite a daunting process.

HOME of Somerset County is looking for a bookkeeper to record and classify financial transactions, accounts payable/receivables and perform reconciliations.  Candidates must be proficient with Quickbooks, experienced in Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint, have 5 years of bookkeeping experience and have a Bachelors or Associates Degree in Accounting. We are anticipating 6-8 hours a month.  Interested parties please contact:Alyssa Martini, alyssa@homescnj.org

PLEASE CONTINUE TO BRING

YOUR PLASTIC TO CHURCH

WE ARE SAVING FOR A BENCH FOR SANCTUARY+SEED

All paper labels must be cut off Amazon bags

It must be soft, stretchable plastic.

If it crinkles, it can't be recycled.

No cat or dog food bags please

Earth Stewardship is our responsibility as we collectively care for creation. We recognize the enormous and potentially devastating impact plastics have on our environment. One small way we can make a difference is the NexTrex Plastic Film Recycling Program.

BBPC will be collecting single-use plastics for recycling. We will partner with NexTrex to earn a park bench with our recycled plastic. To earn the bench for S+S we need to collect 1000 pounds of plastic by December, 2026.

We encourage you to bring your plastics to BBPC, and drop them in the marked box. Plastic MUST be “clean”, dry, and free of food/waste residue. We cannot accept plastic that is filled with trash, waste, or is dirty.

If you have questions regarding what can and cannot be recycled, please see below or click the link below to go to the NexTrex website:
