Save The Date: September 21st

This Month Marks the 4 years anniversary of the food pantry. In celebration, coffee hour will be in the preschool room of the PCC. There will be a week in the life of the food pantry display. There will also be an activity to help families in food crisis. Fill a bag with nonperishable food on an assembly line. The bags will be distributed to our church and local social services agencies to be given to those in need.

The HOME Program Returns Sept. 28 - Oct. 5.

HOME of Somerset County, Inc. provides care and counseling for families in need during the day and houses of worship, like BBPC provide a warm meal, a safe place to sleep at night, and fellowship for the families. We are looking for volunteers to make and serve dinners, spend time with our guests and stay overnight. We count on our many volunteers to make this effort a success and give our guests the care that makes BBPC feel like home. If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Dougherty at sbdoc2012@gmail.com

The Grant writing event has been canceled. Anyone who wants to help writing grants please email Brooks Smith at : smithjbrooks25@gmail.com. He will set up a zoom meeting at a date to be announced.

Update: We need egg cartons! Please share any you have.

The donated food supply from local supermarkets varies weekly while the number of families attending is increasing.

A major monthly expense of the food pantry is purchasing plastic bags for packaging personal care items such as shampoo, laundry detergent, toothpaste & toilet paper. If anyone knows of, or has a connection with a company producing or distributing these items, please contact D'Maris. We are hoping for ongoing donations or reduced pricing on these items.

Questions? Please call the church office at (732) 356-3575

or reach out to: D’Maris Dempsey or Diane Gilson.

PLASTIC FILM RECYCLING CHALLENGE!

Earth Stewardship is our responsibility as we collectively care for creation. We recognize the enormous and potentially devastating impact plastics have on our environment. One small way we can make a difference is the NexTrex Plastic Film Recycling Program.

BBPC will be collecting single-use plastics for recycling. We will partner with NexTrex to earn a park bench with our recycled plastic. To earn our bench we need to collect 1000 pounds of plastic by March 2026.

We encourage you to bring your plastics to BBPC, and drop them in the marked boxes. Plastic MUST be “clean”, dry, and free of food/waste residue. We cannot accept plastic that is filled with trash, waste, or is dirty.

If you have questions regarding what can and cannot be recycled, please see below or click the link below to go to the NexTrex website:
