Because Presbyterian Women celebrate children at Christmastime

Presbyterian Women of First Presbyterian Church in Victoria once again coordinated and sponsored an annual Angel Tree project in partnership with the Salvation Army and Perpetual Help Home, a local shelter for women and their children. With generous support from the entire congregation, the Angel Tree provides many happy children with Christmas gifts selected especially for them during this season of Hope, Peace, Joy and LoveAlleluia!

Are You the One?

A Reflection for the Third Sunday of Advent (Year A)

Rev. Bobby Musengwa

Transitional General Presbyter

Jesus's response to John’s doubt, and ours, is remarkable. He doesn't offer theological arguments or proof texts. He doesn't defend his credentials or rebuke John's question. Instead, he says simply: ‘Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news brought to them.’ Look at the evidence. Trust the fruit.

Stated Clerk's Notes

Rev. Laurie Palmer

Stated Clerk

The Presbytery is sending out updated 2026 forms on December 12, including clergy contracts, clerk/treasurer info, and the annual statistical report. Laurie also shares her holiday office schedule and offered a warm word of thanks for God’s guidance this year.

A few times per month, we will be praying for a specific list of churches in our Presbytery. Please join us in praying for the congregations, clergy, and staff of Westminster Presbyterian Church Austin, First Presbyterian Church Junction, First Presbyterian Church Elgin, First Presbyterian Church New Braunfels, and Iglesia Presbiteriana Getsemani.

It's that time of year again!

The Souper Bowl Championship is Almost Upon Us!

The Souper Bowl of Caring’s vision is to channel the excitement of the NFL’s Super Bowl into a powerful movement that unites youth and churches in the fight against hunger in their local communities. In that same spirit, the Mission Presbytery Souper Bowl Championship brings our congregations together in a friendly but meaningful competition — rallying energy, generosity, and teamwork to care for our neighbors in need.

Promoting begins: During the month of December

Collecting begins: Thursday, January 1

Collecting ends: Sunday, February 8

Totals due: Wednesday, February 11
