At Central Presbyterian Church in Austin, they came to tackle hunger, but they ended up also trying to tackle the Pastor! Churches throughout the Presbytery brought their "A" game and shared the vision of the Souper Bowl of Caring.

Prayer for the First Sunday of Lent, Year A

O God, we're here today at your invitation. You have called us, each and everyone of us. Here we are. We gather to worship you!Honestly, we have a lot in our minds. Our hearts are carrying many burdens. Yet, you invite us to lay our burdens down.

This week, please join us in praying for the students, staff, and ministry of the United Campus Ministry at Texas State University. The UCM is a joint campus ministry of the PC(USA), the United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

The application for Better Together Fund grants is now available. Better Together Fund grants are an opportunity for two or more Mission Presbytery congregations and additional ministries to receive funding for a

new collaborative project to help connect, learn, and serve within Mission Presbytery. More information and the application form are available at this link. Applications are due April 15.

January 2026 Leader Formation Newsletter

Along with teaching elders, ruling elders are called to ministry with responsibilities in several areas of the life of the church, including exercising leadership, governance, spiritual discernment, and discipline.

Regarding Ruling Elder articles for the next few years will explore some of these foundational roles allowing opportunities for reflection, education, exploration, and prayer for those who serve as, and with, ruling elders.
