Because Presbyterians build a better sleep

More than 80 volunteers from Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Austin came together with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build 40 beds for children in our community who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor. What began as lumber, tools, and willing hands soon become places of rest for kids who need them.

Celebrate Safely This Fourth of July

Libby Janes, Director of the Synod of the Sun Partnership for Disaster Recovery, shares this fireworks safety advice from OK-EM. Share this your congregations and have a safe July 4th weekend!

Independence Day is a time for celebration, but fireworks can quickly turn fun into danger if not handled properly. Every year, thousands of people — many of them children — are injured by fireworks. Let’s keep this Independence Day safe for everyone.

Are you a lay preacher interested in connecting with other lay preachers?

Join a one-year cohort to learn more about faith-full preaching with your peers! Through discussion and sermon-sharing twice a month over Zoom, lay preachers in this group gain a community of peer-coaches who can encourage and support one another, all with the goal of cultivating more faith-full preaching.

Learn more about this opportunity and how to apply at https://www.sharingfaithinitiative.com/lay-preacher-cohorts.

Applications are due by July 31, 2026, with the cohort announced by August 5, 2026. The cohort will meet online on Tuesday afternoons from September 2026-May 2027.

We See You!
