All amendments proposed by the 226th General Assembly receive approval from a majority of presbyteries

As of May 13, all amendments to the PC(USA) Book of Order proposed by last summer's 226th General Assembly have been approved by the requisite number of presbyteries in order to pass and go into effect. There are 166 presbyteries in the PC(USA) and amendments are required to be approved by a majority of presbyteries — at least 84 out of 166 total — in order to pass.

Stated Clerk's Notes

During a fire alarm at a Holiday Inn Express in Del Rio this past Sunday, a chance encounter in a stairwell between two Presbyterian leaders—Mary Orr from Island Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, and Laurie, attending Maria Vargas’s last Sunday at FPC, Del Rio—sparked laughter and reflection.

As preparations continue for the upcoming presbytery meeting in Boerne, Laurie encourages us to remain prayerful, supportive, and ready to welcome newcomers with joy, trusting God to lead the way forward.

PC(USA) pastor spins the 'Wheel of Fortune' - The Presbyterian Outlook

Nobody could ever say that the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Reinink isn’t a “man of letters.”

And now he’s proven it on national television.

Last Wednesday, the pastor of Irvington Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis and man of letters — who holds degrees in mathematics, French, divinity, Christian education, organizational behavior and sacramental theology — pursued letters of a different kind as a contestant on “Wheel of Fortune,” America’s Game® and its longest-running syndicated television game show.

Chaplains needed June 9-13 and June 18-20

Do you want to volunteer a week of your summer living in the beautiful Texas Hill Country helping kids grow their spirituality and self-awareness? If so, this role is for you!

Chaplains usually serve a week at a time, living at John Knox Ranch, leading 45 min chaplain time sessions with small groups a couple of times per day. The rest of the time you can join resident camp activities, rest and relax, take day trips into Wimberley and the surrounding area, write all of next year's sermons, or all of the above. Meals and lodging are included. Curriculum is provided based on the summer camp theme, to which you will bring your own gifts, talents, ideas, and interpretation.
