The inaugural class at the Wesley Missionary Institute has completed their first six months of study, and this week the 11 students are engaged in their first internship. All will be involved in door-to-door evangelism, teaching, preaching and counseling. Pray the Lord will use them in ministry and give them good, practical learning experiences.

Free Methodist young people from Asia will participate in a virtual gathering – FREE Youth Asia CONNECT 2021 – on August 6, 13, 20, and 27. Pray for an awakening among young people throughout Asia.

Continue to pray urgently for Giovanna Souza, the 6-year-old daughter of international missionaries Moisés and Jacione Souza. Her medical condition has deteriorated, and they have exhausted all medical treatments available in São Tomé. She will need to be treated in Portugal (being treated for a bacteria). Jacione will travel with Giovanna, while Moisés and daughter, Felipa, stay in São Tomé. Please pray for Giovanna’s healing. Pray the Lord will provide the needed financial resources for travel and medical care.

Pray for Area Director Josue Fajardo as he travels to Stockholm, Sweden, this coming week, August 6-9. He will be joined by Eric Casteel, the regional director for northern Europe. Both will meet with ministry leaders who emigrated from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and have initiated Free Methodist work in Sweden.

Pastor Hiuberth Zapata, our mission district leader in Nicaragua and El Salvador, has been battling COVID for the past couple of weeks. His health has now deteriorated to the point the doctors are planning to intubate him. Please pray urgently for a miracle of healing in his body!

Please join in prayer for an area-wide seminar to be held on August 14. The seminar's theme is “Creating Solid Foundations for Family and Ministry” and is designed to help ministerial couples establish healthy balance. This is in response to need evident throughout the region as tensions from the pandemic have affected pastoral families.

Today, August 3, is the memorial day of the Yazidi Genocide, the day ISIS committed the massacre against Yazidis. The government and the FMC are conducting memorial services today. Pray those who mourn will be comforted.

Please pray for our ICCM workers and children across Asia as the Delta variant of COVID continues to surge in many places. Ask the Father to heal, sustain and provide for those affected physically and economically.

Praise God! Some members of the Dayanand weaving group (they create the handwoven bookmarks, napkins, and bags sold by SEED) came down with COVID but have recovered. We have great reason to give thanks since many of them already had compromised immune systems.

MyPlace, a featured Freedom Sunday organization, is a rental living space for young women aging out of foster care. Volunteers walk alongside residents to help them work learn life skills and work through important life milestones. Pray for the young women living at MyPlace.
