ADVENT PRAYER
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,  to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn….  Isaiah 61:1-2

As Free Methodists around the world continue to proclaim the good news of the gospel, pray many will find hope in Jesus Christ.
AFRICA
Please continue to pray for peace in Ethiopia. The conflict in the Tigray region is affecting many people. Many not involved in the conflict are cut off from access to food and other essentials. Pray for means of getting food and other necessities to these people.

Join us in praying for Pastor Rito, our leader in Guinea Bissau. Pray for the continued development of a church plant in the capital, Bissau. Pray for God to prepare the hearts and minds to hear the gospel message through various outreach ministries. And pray for effective discipleship of people already connected with the work.
ASIA
Missionaries Darin and Jill Land will be returning to the U.S. this week for a time of partnership building. Pray for health and ease of travel as they navigate the trip and the travel requirements resulting from the pandemic.

Please be in prayer for the entire Asia missionary team as they work to build strong prayer and financial partnerships for 2021. Ask the Father to guide them in connecting with churches and individuals who will faithfully support their ministry.
EUROPE
The Budapest, Hungary fellowship has planned a special program on December 6 at the Salvation Army shelter for women and children. Pray the program will be able to proceed as scheduled despite current virus restrictions. Ask the Lord to use Pastor Zsuzsa and Pastor Péter to communicate God’s love to the children and their mothers.

Missionaries Phil and Debra Gilmore (Spain) thank the Lord for opportunities to connect with atheist neighbors. Join them in praying for "B" who is receiving cancer treatment, and "J" who will have surgery soon. Ask the Father to give them increasing openness to hear more about Jesus.
LATIN AMERICA
Pray for the impact of an area-wide Advent emphasis. The program consists of an advent guide, four video devotions, and a united service for the whole Latin America region on December 20. Pray many will come to a greater knowledge of Jesus during this season. Spanish speaking friends and churches are invited to join. Click here for more information.

Please continue to pray for both Honduras and Nicaragua following the two hurricanes in November. Pastor Hiuberth Zapata, our mission district leader in Nicaragua, reports that work teams from our churches have gone to help repair and rebuild 17 houses on the coast.
MIDDLE EAST
Pray for ministry with families from non-Christian backgrounds. Many have an intense thirst to know God and learn His Word. Pray for open doors to evangelize and disciple families. Pray home group leaders will have wisdom from the Holy Spirit as they share the gospel.

Several of our workers in the Middle East have COVID-19. Please continue to pray for these individuals and the expanding impact of the virus.
FMWM FAMILY
Pray for the family Phyllis Shumaker, former missionary to Paraguay and Mexico. Phyllis passed away November 22. A brief graveside service was held on Saturday, November 28, with a memorial service being planned for a later date. She and her husband Tim were active members of the Huber Heights Free Methodist Church in Ohio. Join us in giving thanks for her life of faithful kingdom service.
INTERNATIONAL CHILD CARE MINISTRIES
Praise the Lord for Ann’s Angel Fund, which gives access to medical care for children who have urgent medical needs. Recently Theoneste, a special needs student in Rwanda, was able to receive hearing aids. Pray for Theoneste and other children like him who have medical needs.

SEED
During this first week of Advent, pray for HOPE and the knowledge of Emmanuel's presence for all the people in SEED's partner livelihood groups.

SET FREE MOVEMENT
The Set Free Movement encourages us to think twice about unbelievable deals and sales this season. Labor trafficking thrives on exploiting others for profit and cheap goods. Pray those being exploited will be set free both through our actions and salvation in Christ.

VISA MINISTRIES
Free Methodist World Missions (FMWM), in cooperation with our national leaders and in consultation with Area Directors, continues to monitor the situation worldwide with COVID-19. FMWM does not anticipate the approval of nor the sending of any short term missions teams until after June 1, 2021.
