Over 1500 pastors quit the ministry each month. Many more would if they could be guaranteed better pay, or pay equal to what they are receiving now. There is such a heavy onslaught of discouragement targeting today's ministers. They need your constant support and encouragement. Most of them will not tell you that, so I am. That is my first thought as I write you this month.
My second thought is to thank you for your love and support. I know it sounds like a clich�, but we could not do what we do without you. As an example, I've been spending large amounts of time lately working on my new book - writing, editing, tweaking and re-tweaking the manuscript, talking to publishers, educating myself on the ever-changing publishing industry, including marketing and distribution, and the list goes on. Heck, I even signed up for a 6-week author's course. Balancing my writing with my travels would be far more challenging without the consistent monthly partnership and prayers of a faithful core.
Thirdly, it is not only your prayers and monthly partnership, but the one time gifts of select churches and individuals that also help to send us on overseas assignments. We have a travel account that we keep just for this purpose. For instance, in October and November of this year, and into 2015 we have three trips we are already planning. Usually the responsibility falls on us to pay for these trips.
In October we return to Colombia for the second consecutive year and eighth for me overall. We've always been warmly received in this nation, and hunger and expectation is always high in our meetings. Shortly after the Colombia trip we'll be going to Iraq for the first time to minister and encourage some former students of ours who have established a ministry base there. There is still time to contribute toward these trips as God leads you. On the table are also invitations to Haiti and Brazil for next year. It is just impossible to go to these nations without your financial backing.
Finally, don't forget to register for our upcoming Holy Ghost Forum on May 4-6. These are always times of infilling and refreshing for the body of Christ. Let's sharpen ourselves in the streams and flow of the Holy Ghost!

Adam and Eve first hid from the presence of the Lord in the garden after they had fallen. But there will be no hiding from the presence of the Lord on that solemn Day of Judgment.
