THE LEGAL BATTLES CONTINUE AS WE WORK TO PROTECT WOMEN, CHILDREN AND BABIES
On Tuesday, when Charlie Kirk was being awarded the Medal of Freedom, Missouri was shaken by the courts move to take away all safety protections for women during an abortion.
Just a few of the safety standards removed by the court this week:
- First they said that it is ok for an abortion clinic not to be licensed. This is dangerous to women because abortion clinics in Missouri have a history of rusty equipment, dried bloody equipment, expired drugs and non-qualified providers. In past years, they have been shut down by the state for a period of time to get these dangerous issues addressed.
- The court also said that having an abortion can be done on the spot without information about the risks being given to women to review for a short time before having an abortion. So, if a woman walks in to an abortion clinic and is distraught about the circumstances of the moment, she can have an abortion on the spot without being fully informed about her baby and the possible complications of an abortion on her own body.
There are many more safety standards that have been discarded after proof that they were saving lives. That ruling sets the stage for removal of other protections for women, children and babies.
This is a very sad and dark period of time in Missouri history as many innocent pre-born babies will lose their lives in the most horrendous procedure of abortion.
Attorney General Catherine Hanaway has requested information from abortion clinics regarding the blatant actions of Planned Parenthood to subvert Missouri parental consent laws. These parental consent laws are in danger of being removed by the court as well. She has also requested other relevant information to women’s health and safety.
In other legal actions this week, Attorney General Catherine Hanaway also filed suit to stop petitions from putting the new redistricting map, approved by the legislature and signed by the Governor after the Second Special Session in September, on the 2026 ballot. AG Hanaway stated that the drawing of Congressional Districts is an issue given to the State Legislature to decide. We will be watching this case as it moves forward and will give updates in our weekly lifeline when there is movement in the case.
Pray for Missouri, our Statewide Leaders and Missouri Right to Life as we all work to “Make Missouri Pro-life Again” and make Missouri a safe haven for women, children and babies.
