Missouri Senate Majority Caucus Issues Statement

on Amendment 3 Decision

Members of the Missouri Senate Majority Caucus held a news conference on Tuesday, Feb. 18, to discuss reaction to a court decision on Amendment 3, which narrowly passed after a deceptive campaign by abortion supporters.

On Friday, February 14, in the early evening, Jackson County Judge Jerri Zhang ruled to strike down a requirement for licensing of abortion clinics and ruled that all health and safety standards were unconstitutional because of Amendment 3. This ruling added to her earlier ruling which struck down an abortion ban that protected unborn children.

Women and babies life's are in danger and pro-life Missouri legislators are standing together with pro-life Missourians to be a voice for those who have no voice. Thank you, Republicans!

Legislative Update

Hearings this week:

Adoption Legislation – HB 807 Heard in the House Children and Families Committee

While Missouri Right to Life supports making adoption easier, we do NOT support the keeping of lists of women.

The State of Missouri is working to help the general public know that there are programs to help women who would like to have an option of adoption over abortion.

This is more critical now since health and safety regulations have been removed from abortion clinics because of Amendment 3.

Watch for new language to come out of the House Children and Families Committee soon on HB 807.
