MidWest March for Life

On Thursday, May 1, thousands of pro-life Missourians gathered at the Missouri State Capitol to pray, rally and march for the protection of preborn babies.

The opening prayer at the rally was offered by Bishop Rice of Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese. Pro-life speakers included Attorney General Andrew Bailey, who is working in the courts to continue to protect Missouri’s preborn babies, and Senator Adam Schnelting, Senate Sponsor of SJR 33 to repeal and replace Amendment 3 and the Senate handler of HJR 73. Also present was Rep. Bryan Seitz, handler of HJR 73, also to repeal and replace Amendment 3, which has passed the House and was passed out of the Senate committee, yesterday.

Susan Klein, Executive Director of Missouri Right to Life, (pictured below) spoke about the efforts of MRL to repeal and replace Amendment 3 and the need for all pro-life Missourians to get involved in this battle. In addition, there were speeches by post-abortive, pro-life activist, Toni McFadden and almost aborted, Live Action Correspondent Christina Bennett.

There were other pro-life leaders also speaking, including David Bereit, Brandy Meeks and Missy Martinez-Stone.

Nonprofit sues to overturn Missouri’s

parental consent laws for minors seeking abortions

On April 30, 2025, Right By You, a pro-abortion organization that assist minors in aborting their unborn children, filed a lawsuit in Jackson County in which they are asking the Court to find that Amendment 3 wiped out Missouri’s existing requirements for parental notification and consent prior to a minor’s abortion.

During the campaign for Amendment 3, the proponents of Amendment 3 and the media repeatedly assured the voters that Amendment 3 would not do away with the parental consent requirements.

This case is another example of the fact that not only did Amendment 3 go too far, but that the voters were lied to and misled about the extraordinarily broad scope of Amendment 3.
