First Group Graduates from

Jail Officer Academy


We are so excited as this has been a long time in the making. Tonight the Sheriffs' Association graduated 12 from its first Jail Officer Academy held at the Pettis County Sheriff's Office in Sedalia. Class number 2 is underway at the Webster County Sheriff's Office with number 3 scheduled to begin April 28th at the Adair County Sheriff's Office. Graduates from this course can go on to complete 2 additional courses and apply for certification as a MSA Certified Jail Officer. READ MORE

Wheatley Named First Missouri WSSA Rep


Moniteau County Sheriff Tony Wheatley is Missouri's first representative for an organization connecting sheriffs from 17 other states. Missouri sheriffs unanimously chose Wheatley on March 8 to be the state's first representative on the Western States Sheriffs' Association (WSSA) Board of Directors. In the role, he will be working with sheriffs from 17 other states in the organization – Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming – to address concerns affecting those states. Open Doors Program


On April 20 our deputies participated in an "Open Doors" program at Lonedell R-14 School District. We were joined by firefighters from the St. Clair Fire Protection District and EMS with St. Clair Ambulance District to greet the students and staff.
