Webinar: Resilience and Self-Care in the Season of COVID
Missouri Union Presbytery
June 10, 2020
9:00 - 10:00am CT

This panel discussion presented by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance will focus on resilience and self-care in the continuing season of COVID-19. We will include the framework of recovery from a disaster and the trauma that can accompany it. We will address how to understand our own signs of stress and will offer in-the- moment tools to become more relaxed in body and mind in the midst of the challenges and joys of considering in-person worship experiences, along with continued virtual opportunities for worship and fellowship.

We ask you to please pre-register for this event by going to the presbytery website. Upon registration, you will receive the Zoom Meeting invitation. That invitation will be re-sent on the day of the event.

Fall Bible Study for Presbytery Women
Presbyterian Women invite all to participate in this Fall's Bible Study,  Into the Light: Finding Hope in Prayers of Lament .  Even though PW selected this topic to be developed into the 2020-2021 Bible Study several years ago, it now seems especially appropriate in these times.

Find out more about the Bible study and purchase copies at  https://www.presbyterianwomen.org/current-bible-study/ .  Using this Bible Study across our churches offers another way for us to all be “together” even as we are physically distanced.
MUP Summer Camps Postponed for 2020 Camping Season
The Dear MUP & Mid-America Camping Families & Supporters,

Last week, a somber outdoor ministries team meeting took place. Sadness was palpable upon the faces of all leaders when we agreed that we should not and will not host any regional camps this summer . Due to the lingering presence and spreading of Covid-19 throughout Missouri, the risks of managing socially-distant, regularly disinfected, health-monitoring camps and still provide the spiritually-enriching, life-changing experience would be difficult, if not impossible.
Presbyterian Peace Camp
Firing Up the Church - at Home!
Are you interested in peacemaking and social justice issues? Do you wonder how environmental justice issues and gun violence prevention intersect with the Presbyterian faith? Are you looking for some virtual fun and joy?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you're in luck! Presbyterian Peace Fellowship invites all Presbyterians to  Presbyterian Peace Camp: A Virtual Week of Learning, Prayer, & Action June 18-27.  Peace Camp is taking place during the week of General Assembly so that Presbyterians—commissioners and others alike—can put our faith into action alongside the shortened GA business meetings. Campers will have the opportunity to join in vigils, teach-ins, actions to take at the local church and presbytery level, and receive a daily devotional to your inbox.

Peace Camp is free and includes the annual Peace Breakfast on Wed. June 24 at 11 Am EDT. This year it's BYOB - Bring Your Own Breakfast!
Ferncliff Camp is Offering
Camp in a Box
Ferncliff's Camp in a Box brings the fun of a camp or VBS program to your doorstep! Camp in a Box provides fun, meaningful activities for kids as an alternative to face-to-face summer programming.

Camp in a Box is designed with the elementary camper in mind, grades K-5th or 6th. Each box provides 5 days’ worth of activities that are screen-free, encourage outdoor activity, and minimize demands on parents.

This program is endorsed and supported by: Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center, Gilmont Camp and Conference Center, Camp Hopewell, The Presbytery of Arkansas, Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery, Grace Presbytery and The Presbytery of the Pines.
Free VBS Resources from Cokesbury
If you decide to hold a virtual or remote VBS, Cokesbury is offering FREE VBS materials for use during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Many of their resources are already available digitally and several come with permission to share. In some cases, our resources may require adaptations for use at home. We’re combing each leader guide to find the best options for “in-home” experiences and will share that information along with suggested adaptations and alternatives where necessary.

MUP Prayer Basket
We lift our prayers for Jason and Misty Hilkerbaumer on the unexpected death of Misty’s sister.

We pray Lord that You will right all the wrongs that are taking place in our world and vindicate those that are being treated unjustly. Keep us from trying to take matters into our own hands for vengeance is your and You will repay - but Lord in your grace and mercy we pray that you would give justice and peace to all those that have been cruelly and unfairly treated by their fellow man and may injustice and carelessness that they have had to endure be the means to draw them into Your saving arms of grace.

This is Our Prayer Basket. If you have prayers of intercession or thanksgiving, please submit them via the e-mail link below.
