Misty Copeland Gives Dréa’s Dream Patients a Big Treat
On Saturday, June 23 rd , pediatric patients from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center , along with their families, were treated to an exciting day at the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center, NYC. Not only did they get to see Principal Dancer of the American Ballet Theatre, Misty Copeland , perform in Swan Lake, but they were invited back stage for a “meet & greet.” They even went “on stage” after the show and stood on “the LAKE!” Gifts from the Foundation were given to patients and families and there were many smiles and much excitement. We are so very grateful to Misty Copeland, her team and the staff of the American Ballet Theatre for making this “dream day” come true. Special thanks to Foundation members, Jill Mollitor and Laura Harlan , for all their efforts to make this day memorable for all involved

I'm constantly asked how the Andréa Rizzo Foundation has grown far and wide through the efforts of a completely volunteer staff. My answer is always the same, "Dréa has sent us a " Dream Team " of angels!"
Each month we will spotlight a different volunteer to show our appreciation. There are so many compassionate and dedicated volunteers and "angels" so I will randomly choose one to introduce to you each month.
We hope you'll enjoy reading about each of these individuals as much as we love presenting them to you.

Dréa’s Dream Team: June Spotlight on Andee Dooley
It always seems that when we are in need of help, some very generous person comes forward and offers a lending hand. Social Media is a big job and we are always happy to have the assistance of volunteers.

Andee Dooley is new to our team but has already provided us with the gift of her organizational skills and social media savvy. Andee not only posts our Flashback Friday posts but she also keeps track of our dance school contacts so that we can be in touch with the many dancers who support our cause.

The Andréa Rizzo Foundation is dear to Andee’s heart as she begins her dance/movement therapy career. We are so grateful for her help and wish her the best.
