The Mitcham Library Service is continuing to operate in a safe manner.

TOY LIBRARIES

Did you know that it is part of the Mitcham Library Service’s ‘Conditions of Use’ that Toy Library members are required to clean toys before returning them?
A big THANK YOU to all the families who have been doing a brilliant job at returning their toys in a super clean condition!
If anyone in your family has been unwell (e.g. vomiting, diarrhea, respiratory infection) please contact the toy library prior to returning the toy for further advice.
PACK YOUR PARACHUTE - ART THERAPY
Sundays 23 Aug - 20 Sept
2.30 - 4.30 pm
‘Pack your parachute’ is a series of 5 workshops, with Artfusion Counselling, exploring “Who are you?” and “What does it mean to be who you are?”
You will explore where you’re going, how to operate the ‘control lines’, how to build confidence through our ‘suspension lines’ and knowing what to keep.

JOHN WOOD - AUTHOR TALK
Thursday 13 August | 7.30pm | Free
This ‘In Conversation’ author event is online via Zoom. John Wood is an Australian actor, now author and is most famous for his roles as Michael Rafferty in Rafferty’s Rules and Tom Croydon in Blue Heelers. John will be promoting his memoir How I Clawed My Way to the Middle, which will be officially launched on 4 August. Join us from the comfort of your own home as we chat with John about his life - from humble beginnings to an acting career and now a published author.

GETTING MORE FROM YOUR IPAD - FREE ONLINE CLASS
This class is for people who can use an iPad but want to know more of its functions. The lesson is 2x1 hour sessions using Zoom video meetings. An individual intro to Zoom is provided for people who have never used Zoom. The class includes managing photos, getting Apps, control centre, photos, bookmarks, word-processing, iCloud, Apple ID, backups, password management eBooks, maps, podcasts, music…
and more.

LEARN BLOGGING IN YOUR OWN TIME
Do you want to learn to write a blog but can’t attend a class? A visual online tutorial is now available. This self-paced tutorial, developed by John Travers, demonstrates how to set up a travel blog but provides skills necessary to create any type of blog. Zoom is also in the works. John will provide support for those following the tutorial via email.

Ancestry.com Library Edition provides access to an extensive range of genealogical resources from the United States and United Kingdom, including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records. It also provides limited Australian coverage.
