FESTIVE EVENTS!

Join us at our libraries, community centres and parks for family-friendly festive fun!


Our libraries are hosting Christmas night-time storytime at Mitcham Memorial Library and at Tiwu Kumangka. There's a Christmas Scavenger Hunt, The Phantastic Physics Show with Nitro Nat (bookings not required, walk-ins welcome on the day), and there's still time for children to write a letter to Santa and post it in his letterbox at the libraries - but be quick, last day to post your letter is December 10!

SPEECH PATHOLOGY AT STORYTIME AND BABYTIME

Speech Pathology Australia is visiting the libraries after Storytime and Babytime to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have about your child’s speech and language development.

MAKERSPACE EVENTS AT TIWU KUMANGKA

Come along to the Adelaide Repair Cafe to fix those broken household items, reduce waste and gain a skill, or learn about laser cutting with Adelaide Maker Space!

FIRST NATIONS TOY COLLECTION

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you - we are introducing some new First Nations toys to our toy library collection! Explore a world of creativity and tradition as your children dive into imaginative play with these culturally enriching and diverse toys. These toys will be available soon at both our Mitcham and Blackwood Toy Libraries and have been purchased with a Toy Libraries Australia grant, made possible by funding from the Australian Government Department of Social Services.



STORY BOARD WALK

The Christmas Train by Mike Lucas

Take a walk through the Soldiers Memorial Gardens and follow the story of The Christmas Train and the journey of a brother and sister as they head towards Santa's home in the North Pole. As they travel, they experience all of the magic Christmas has to offer, from candy cane trees to gingerbread houses and everything in between!

PILATES AND FREESTYLE AEROBICS CLASSES

BECOME A JP VOLUNTEER AT THE LIBRARIES

Are you a qualified Justice of the Peace? Join us as a volunteer! The City of Mitcham is seeking JPs for its free drop-in service at Mitcham Memorial Library and Tiwu Kumangka, Blackwood. JPs sign and notate documents, including Wills and Advance Care Directives, and can help residents understand the nature of documents before they are signed.
