STORY BOARD WALK

Market Day by Carrie Gallasch and Hannah Sommerville

Take a walk through the Soldiers Memorial Gardens and follow the story of a girl who, when given a coin to spend at the market, thinks carefully about what to buy. She is tempted by the towering stacks of fruit, spinning rides and glass jars filled with sweets. But it isn't until a stranger gives something to her, without expecting anything in return, that she knows exactly what to do with her coin.

Place this book on hold!

Wifedom: Mrs. Orwell's

Invisible Life

by Anna Funder

In this book we find Eileen, known throughout history as George Orwell's wife, obscured by her role as 'wife'. A thought- provoking book about the role many women play as 'wife', or the job, as Anna Funder describes, of 'Wifedom'.
