The Mitcham Library Service is continuing to operate due to COVID-19 in a safe manner.

We monitor and review the situation and provide regular updates on our social media channels and website.
KEEPING EVERYONE SAFE IN 2021
Most services have now resumed although there may be some changes to ensure we follow protocols with added COVID-19 safe precautions.

Please contact the libraries if you have questions about specific programmes.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY CLOSURE
The Mitcham Memorial Library and Blackwood Library will be closed on Monday 8 March for the Adelaide Cup Public Holiday.

The after hours returns chutes will be open. When full they will automatically close off. Please do not leave items outside the library as you will remain responsible for these items.

Once again we will be streaming many of the sessions from the East Stage of Adelaide Writers' Week in March 2021 at the Mitcham Memorial Library.

INTRODUCTORY ROBOTICS WORKSHOPS
Mitcham Memorial Library | Saturday 27 March
This one hour workshop will show participants how to program an Arduino microprocessor using Ardublock, a simple "drag and drop" programming interface. The workshop also teaches the basics of programming and unravels some of the "jargon" around programming language.

Parents/caregivers are encouraged to participate.

Always wanted to write that great Australian mystery novel?

Joseph Schneider is a mystery novelist living in California. One Day You'll Burn is his debut novel. We are hosting a free mystery-writing seminar with Joseph, for interested readers and aspiring writers, via Zoom. 

Learn some great techniques for bringing your mystery writing to life from a published author, including research, structure, clues and red herrings and dialogue tips.

TRAVELLING GALLERY EXHIBITION

The Mitcham Library Service is hosting the Welcoming Australia’s Stronger Together travelling photographic exhibition.

Stronger Together supports participants from Welcoming Futures, to share stories of diversity and multiculturalism in Adelaide. Underneath each portrait, there is a short summary of the person in the picture, with a QR code that takes you to a podcast.

The Blackwood Library and Blackwood Toy Library close when an EXTREME or CATASTROPHIC Fire Warning is declared for the Mount Lofty Ranges District.
