Mark your calendars for Temple Emanu-El's annual Mitzvah Day on Sunday, April 23: a family-friendly day of service and community engagement.
This year, Mitzvah Day falls on Earth Day weekend. Honor the occasion by joining our neighborhood cleanup, writing a letter to your congressperson, or learning about the work our own Green Team is doing at Temple.
Bring your donations:
- Bicycles to be upcycled by Good Karma
- Household goods ready to be re-loved
- Granola bars, applesauce and instant oatmeal for JFS' Vocational ESL Program
- Eyeglasses to be refurbished by the Lions Club
- Coins for EESY's coin drive to benefit InnVision
- Books for Silicon Valley Reading Partners
More ways to support our community on Mitzvah Day:
- Make a blanket with Knitzvah
- Help us garden in the courtyard
- Cook a meal for homeless women-or help us serve it the next day at Women's Gathering Place
- Visit Chai House for songs and board games with residents
- Learn about local nonprofits like PACT and get involved!!
The day will start at 10:00 AM with a brief T'fillah and wrap up with lunch provided by Brotherhood at 12:30 PM. All religious school students will be participating in service activities with their classes. Interested in volunteering? Contact Karen White at
