Long-time conservative leader, Delegate Lee Ware released the following statement:

“For chief law-enforcement officer of our Commonwealth in 2021, the choice for me is easily made. Delegate Jason Miyares is not only a colleague in the House but an old friend and, indeed, served as my legislative assistant nearly two decades ago.  Jason has gone on to earn a law degree, practice with distinction, marry (Page Atkinson Miyares) and father three children, and now serves with honor in the General Assembly. He would be a splendid Attorney General for all Virginians. I am pleased to recommend Delegate Miyares to my fellow Republicans as he seeks our party's nomination for the third most important of our statewide offices.” - Delegate Lee Ware

“I’m honored to receive the confidence and support of Republican leaders and conservative activists from across the Commonwealth.  We need a united party to win again, and I look forward to the Great Virginia Comeback of 2021,” said Miyares. “We desperately need a check and balance in Richmond to stop the out-of-control liberal agenda of Ralph Northam and Mark Herring.”

On December 2, Miyares announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Virginia Attorney General.  Since then, he has secured dozens of endorsements from elected officials, Unit Chairmen, State Central Committee Chairs, former statewide elected officials and conservative activists.  These additional endorsements will be announced in the days and weeks ahead
