MoAW’s One-Year Anniversary.
Much has happened in this first year for MoAW. A prodigious amount of joyous work opened the doors to a new and unique museum venue for the residents and visitors to the Greater Palm Springs area. MoAW employs a well thought out business plan, but no contingency for a world-wide pandemic. With the rise in positive test results in Riverside County, we are closing temporarily for the third time this year as directed by the State of California.

In March, when MoAW shuttered for the first time due to COVID-19, the museum had reached a level of visitorship wherein revenues were meeting monthly expenses. We had hundreds of students scheduled for field-trips along with seniors and civic groups. Local, national, and international organizations were eyeing MoAW's unique venue for meetings and premiere events. Now, with safety precautions in place, we continue to adjust to the pandemic on every level.

During its first year, MoAW hosted many wonderful tourists from around the world. They enjoyed their visit, giving stellar reviews on social media platforms. We also meet many wonderful resident museum enthusiasts from the Coachella Valley that are drawn to MoAW's unique experience, visit often with their guests, and sometimes just drop in to say hello to encourage the effort. Wonderful people continue to help us in more ways than we can count, from getting our doors open, to keeping them open, planning, giving, and offering sound advice and guidance. To everyone who became a member this year, MoAW is grateful.

MoAW's one-year anniversary will mark the survival of well laid plans and, hopefully, with all of us working together, we will see the end of the pandemic for 2021. On Monday, October 26, raise a glass, and toast to the museum's remarkable longevity amidst unprecedented circumstances.

With a passionate focus on the worlds of ancient civilization and prehistoric life, MoAW remains steadfast in its mission to bring unique learning opportunities to the people of the greater Coachella Valley.

In the interim, stay safe and be well. See you at the Museum of Ancient Wonders soon.
